I have been seeing some incredibly inspiring posts around the blogosphere in the past few weeks, waxing lyrical about motivation and goals and exciting plans for the new year and I felt like I was an outsider watching on. Someone that couldn’t participate in all this fresh, glowy resolution stuff. Usually Im the first cab off the rank, writing mammoth lists and ticking off goals, but something has held me back this year.
I’m not sure what it is. Fear? Procrastination? Lack of ideas?
I was starting to feel like it was too late, that I’d missed the boat. Maybe 2012 was going to bypass me in terms of amazing opportunities and grand achievements. Then something happened. It was as if a switch had been flicked. It’s not too late. It’s still January and despite me sitting back and not being motivated or productive, some great things have already happened.

So, you know what? This year is going to be incredible.
I am going to throw myself a little harder into this blog because you (my lovely and supportive readers) deserve the best posts, images and inspiration. I know you’re thirsty for information and thoughtful content and I’d love to give you more of it.
I am going to savour the travel I get to do this year. I’m currently in Brisbane’s Gold Coast, will be heading to Adelaide in February, Europe in June and New York is on the cards for September. Crazy (and exciting) times.
I will finally launch my singing eCourse despite my lack of inspiration. I shouldn’t need to be inspired, I should do it because it will be great and help people all over the world learn how to sing and enjoy their voices.
I will take care of myself as well as I possibly can. Sleep, fitness, food, time to unwind – only the best for my body because it’s the only one I’ll ever have and it deserves the best.
I will embrace all new opportunities and stop shuffling my potential under the rug so to speak.
Have you felt underwhelmed with your start to 2012? You can press the reset button with me!
I’d love to hear what you’re going to do to ensure an incredible year.
In a way it is good you put off the initial resolutions, it seems that more times than not, they fizzle out long before they deserve to. But this will be an amazing year, but only if you want it to be :) It sounds like youre going to have a really amazing time travelling, you’ll have to take a heap of photos :) And thank you for wanting more for your blog, your blog is beautiful regardless :) Wishing you the best for 2012 :)
Hi Melissa, I think you’re right. Too often we rush into making resolutions and we end up keeping them for a matter of weeks because they’re not really what we want or need in our lives. I will definitely take plenty of photos on my travels. Thank you for your kind words about my blog, it’s so lovely of you to say. xx
Yay for inspiration! I haven’t set any actual resolutions (though I’ve been meaning to map out some goals and plans for the year), but I’m definitely working on trying to take better care of my body.
PS: I usually read your blog in Google Reader, but I clicked over to the site… And I love the new look!
That is a wonderful goal Tiera – stick with that one. I think it’s easy to know in broad terms what you want to focus on, it’s harder to be specific about achievements. Thank you so much for your lovely words about the new look! xx
