It really does get you thinking and seeing what other people have to say about this particular topic really shows how similar we can be with our finances. Just like Jennifer, I found that I had more spare money when I started my first full time job. It was a lt less than what I earn now and I used to buy 3 pairs of shoes a fortnight! I want to break away from my current role and go into something with less pressure and actually do something I love. The only thing holding me back is the $$ and its very frustrating, but I have set a goal this year to prepare myself academically and financially to reach it. :) what a great post.

I jave never been able to save, whenever I get enough money in the bank, I immediately think of new projects or ventures to spend it on.

I want to break away from my current role and go into something with less pressure and actually do something I love. The only thing holding me back is the $$ and its very frustrating, but I have set a goal this year to prepare myself academically and financially to reach it. :)

I can definitely relate ! I'm not totally broke, I do have some savings aside in some insurance policies (funds I can't retrieve for a long time) but true I always have this fear of not having enough financially in case something unexpected comes up and I can't pay for it. I'm a big spender on clothing ! I don't buy stuff every week or every month but when I do... It can be a carnage for my bank account :p The limit I have imposed myself so far is no credit card until now, just a debit card so that I know I can 'spend' only the amount I have. I do consider my clothes as an investment though, I buy stuff I definitely like and will be able to mix and match and wear whatever the latest fashion might be but it's true I must try to cut these expenses. Spending is definitely an emotional thing... Well besides the obvious bills (car insurance and rego) we had Christmas and new years, my bday party, two engagements, a hens, a wedding in NZ and family and friends birthdays or family events I have been flying to back home in Sydney. It has added up tremendously and I have finally put my foot down to say no more functions until I have my finances back on track. it will e months before I am back on track and hopefully I can stick to my plan!!
